Not only can the BBB be found at popular social networking sites such as Face book, Twitter, and You tube, but we’ve launched a new search engine optimization (SEO) plan that makes it easier for consumers to find our reports and rosters on the web (without even going to our website). This in turn increases the number of consumers viewing your business information with the goal that they will spend money with you and other responsible Ark-La-Tex businesses that support the services for the BBB.
Our SEO Goal is to increase our presence in the top 10 listings on search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Msn, etc. The BBB believes that if consumers can more easily find trustworthy businesses through our reports and rosters, the more likely they are to deal with BBB accredited businesses and become repeat customers.
To put things in plainer terms, this is how our SEO plan works. If a Shreveport consumer is curious about getting their gutters or downspouts cleaned they’ll type into a search engine “Shreveport gutters”. Our goal is to have the BBB roster of gutter cleaning companies in Shreveport pop up within the top 10 listings (which it currently does). The consumer can then click on our roster to be directed to our accredited businesses within that category.
It is working! From the time we launched our SEO plan at the end of April, the BBB has seen a steady increase in the number of reports and rosters viewed by consumers.
At this time our focus is to increase the number of BBB pages indexed by search engines. In other words, we want search engines to first be able to recognize the BBB reports as valid, reliable sources of information. Our next step is to increase the number of rosters and reports that show up in the top 10 listings for all different types of business categories.
